Central administration

The main governing body of the University is the University Council. The Council consists of the Prime Minister, the Vice-Chancellor, the Chairman of the Academic Council, three people elected by the university staff, three people elected by the university admissions, and six people elected by the university admissions. Student Union

La Trobe University Student Union is responsible for Eagle Bar, please contact Student Services but its role has been xxx reduced due to student voluntary organisations. There used to be three main student representative bodies on campus, called the La Trobe Student Union, the Student Representative Council and the La Trobe Graduate Association. The Student Representative Council at La Trobe University became the campus’ main representative body and student advocacy group, as well as the student representatives of Welfare, disability, Women, Queer, Indigenous, Environment, Education and Welfare and guild-managed student services. But, in 2011, the Student Representative Council, the La Trobe Graduate Association, the Student Union and the University merged these three separate organisations into one body: the La Trobe Student Union.

xxx’s teacher-based student representative organization on campus is the Law Students Association (LSA). The graduate students joined the new union. Students on the Bendigo campus are represented by the Bendigo Students Association (BSA), which is less activist and political than the Student Union. BSA publishes 3rd Degree magazine.
